Where Does It All Come From?

The back seat of our Explorer is crammed full of stuff waiting to be dropped off at the Goodwill. I have no idea where it all comes from, but Terry was busy all day yesterday sorting and arranging things into piles to keep and piles to donate. And she tells me she’s hardly made dent in it! Anything that is just taking up space and does not serve a purpose is going. I’m trying very hard to keep busy and stay under the radar, hoping I make the cut.

While she was busy with all of that, she also did a couple of loads of laundry and made a delicious dinner of roasted pork tenderloin, sautéed small red potatoes, and corn (for me) along with steamed asparagus and Brussels sprouts and a fresh cucumber, tomato and avocado salad (for her). That lady never stops!

I was busy, too, but my work is a lazy man’s chore. I knocked out another 4,000+ words on my new book Return to Dog’s Run. I’m enjoying the story so far and it’s moving right along. I’m up to just shy of 19,000 words now.

While I was doing that, I also did some work on my next authors newsletter. I should have it ready to send out sometime in the next few days. Besides including news of what a lot of my author friends are up to and an interview I did with an online writers group for their magazine, I’ll also be including a short story by my buddy George Wier, author of the excellent Bill Travis mystery series. If you’d like to be added to the mailing list for the newsletter, send me an e-mail at editor@gypsyjournal.net

A number of readers have seen my references to the VA’s Traveling Vet program and asked me what it is. It’s a new program by the Veterans Administration to provide healthcare for veterans when they are away from their primary residence and regular VA doctor. It seems to be a perfect fit for the RV lifestyle. You can learn more at this link.

If you have been thinking about entering the world of drones, there has never been a better time than right now. DJI recently introduced their new Phantom 4 and the prices of the different Phantom 3 models’ prices have dropped dramatically. For less than I paid for a basic Phantom last summer, you can now purchase a Phantom 3 Standard with a lot more bells and whistles, longer range and battery life, and a built in 2.7K HD video camera. I wish I had waited!

Congratulations Rob Nixon, winner of our drawing for a 16GB USB3 flash drive donated by John and Kathy Huggins at Living The RV Dream with all of the shows of their wildly popular Living the RV Dream podcast and their Radio Days recordings, along with show notes, over 360 hours of RVing tips, wisdom and interviews with industry experts. But wait, there’s more! Also included on the flash drive are .pdf files of their books So, you want to be an RVer?’, So, You Want to be a Workamper?, and How to Survive an RV Show, and Have a Great Time Doing It. All of this together is a $135 value. We had 363 entries this time around, which is a new record. Stay tuned, a new contest starts soon.

Thought For The Day – Don’t be irreplaceable. If you can’t be replaced, you can’t be promoted.
